J.A.W.s is a social organization dedicated to promoting windsurfing, learning and having fun.  We put on regular social events, races, skills clinics, road trips and organized group vacation trips to windsurfing destinations.  Our outdoor picnic outings usually include a fun race, or group competition, a windsurfing skills clinic and, lunch/dinner for our members and their families.  These events are generously spread out from spring through late fall.  In the Winter, the hard core members brave the colder Jacksonville winds and water temperatures (usually mid 30's to low 50's) to take advantage of the strong winds which visit us at that time.  Two years ago we had a winter storm which blew over 100 mph.  Our winters usually have wind speeds between 12 to 30 knots so when it blows J.A.W.s sailors go windsurfing. Since J.A.W.s was founded in 1985, the club has organized many group vacations to fun sport & windsurfing destinations, (other  of sports include scuba diving, skiing/snowboard).  We have been to Hawaii, San Francisco, Hood River Oregon, The Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Aruba, Bonaire, Tobago, Cape Hatters NC, The Florida Keys, (annually), Tampa/St. Pete Fl., Melbourne Fl. Plus Colorado  and West Virginia , (skiing & snowboarding),  We have been to some of these places several times.    If you like to travel, have fun with a great group of people, you need to get into windsurfing and join    J.A.W.s!  You will have lots of fun and you will visit the windsurfing world.
