The photo on the left is a color picture made from one of the first movies of anyone windsurfing.  This picture comes from an 8 mm movie taken in 1965.  It is available on video along with other pictures and first movies from Newman Darby. You may order the video from this web site.  The picture on the right is of Newman sailing with an experimental twin mast kite rig. Notice the sails have no window. This is because back then they sailed by standing in front of the sail!  The B/W photo in the middle is a picture is of the first person to sail by holding onto the boom from the back!
